Single-Stage Flip PAM-8 Signal Transmission for W-Band Wireless System
Abstract:
This study verified a 300-meter W-band wireless system that transmits PS-PAM8 signals, successfully achieved the transmission and reception of 9-Gbaud PS-PAM8 signals, and reduced the bit error rate (BER) to below 2 × 10. 2. In this system, we propose a novel single-stage flip probability shaping (PS) scheme. The improved PS scheme can improve the receiver sensitivity by up to 2 dB with low complexity. At a transmission distance of 300m, the PS-PAM8 signal achieved an NGMI threshold of 0.83, indicating that the transmission is reliable.
